Location: Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand, located in the south of Thailand. Phuket Island is one of the most popular travel destinations in Southeast Asia. It has more than 20 scenic white sand beaches, crystal clear blue waters, color reefs rich with sea life as well as dozens of lush neighboring islands. Green tropical jungles with cool waterfalls and a fantastic wild life. On the map, you can see that Phuket Muay Thai Camp is located close to Kata Beach between Kata and Chalong Bay. The Phuket Muay Thai Camp is nestled in a 3 acre tropical property, conveniently located near some of the finest beaches in Phuket, overlooking Chalong Bay with stunning sea views. Yet the camp is secluded and can only be accessed via a private road by residents and students. No traffic, dogs and vendors. Just tropical rainforest vegetation, a waterfall and plenty of privacy.
Accommodation: The Phuket Muay Thai Apartments are located on a quiet hill between Kata and Chalong near the Gym and Boxing Ring. The area is cool and shady. Because it's rarely hot some bungalows are equipped with fans and designed to take advantage of the breeze. About 50% of our other units are equipped with air-conditioning and also feature large verandas, tiled floors and 65 square meters of living space with large screen 29" TV's, Sony DVD players and electronic in-room safe deposit boxes. All bungalows are fully furnished with TV/Video players, Satellite TV, stocked mini bar, kitchen, individual private western standard bath (with hot water) and direct dial phones. Maid service and fresh linens are supplied daily. We also have a large selection of VCD and DVD movies available free of charge.
Secure Wireless High Speed Internet is available at ALL Bungalows! Basic email and web surfing is free of charge, high speed is available for a reasonable fee on hourly basis! Free use of the gym weight equipment and sauna/shower and Jacuzzi, airport transfer from and to the airport.

Training program: Training schedules are based on your level of fitness & what you want to achieve from your training. Programs are tailor-made to suit each individual. Below we have defined the standard training schedule from beginners to Pro fighters. Use the training schedules below as a guide only. How often and how hard you train is up to you. Training days are Monday to Saturday. Sunday is a day of rest for both Students & Trainers
Morning Training: 7am to 11am Afternoon Training: 3pm to 7pm
Beginners and Intermediate students can train both morning and afternoon if desired. Beginners Training Program (Average duration 2.5 hrs):
- Warm -up : 15 minutes of upper & lower body stretching, 10 minutes of Skipping rope (sounds easy but it’s not!)
- Bag Work : 3 x 3 minute rounds of Kicks & Punches, focusing on correct Technique (supervised by the instructor)
- In The Ring : 3 x 3 minute rounds of Technique, 3 x 3 minute rounds of light Sparring (both sessions with Instructor)
- Endurance : 20 - 30 minutes of strength -building using free weights and gym equipment.
- 100 Sit-ups and /or more Skipping
- 30 minute run over a 6km-12km distance (optional)
Intermediate Training Program (Average duration 3.5 hrs):
- Warm -up : 15 minutes of upper & lower body Stretching, 15 minutes of Skipping
- Bag Work: 4 x 3 minute rounds of Punches, Elbows , Kicks & Knees
- In The Ring: 4 x 3 minute rounds of Technique, 4 x 3 minute rounds of Sparring (both sessions with Instructor)
- Endurance: 30 - 40 minutes of strength -building using free weights and gym equipment.
- 200 Sit-ups and / or more Skipping
- 30 minute run over a 6km distance
Advanced Training Program (Pre Fight Training for Thai Fighters): Morning Training (Average duration 2.5 hrs)
- 10 minutes of stretching and light weight training to wake up the body.
- 30 minute run (aprox 10 km distance)
- 15 Minutes of shadow boxing
- 30 minutes strength-building using free weights and gym equipment
- 30 minutes of Bag work and /or Skipping
- 15 minutes of Stretching to warm down the body
(Eat and have a mid day Sleep)
Afternoon Training (Average duration 3 hours)
- Warm -up: 20 minutes of strength-building free weights and gym equipment, 20 minutes Skipping
- Bag Work: 5 x 3 minute rounds of Punches, Elbows , Kicks & Knees
- In The Ring: 5 x 3 minute rounds of Technique, 4 x 3 minute rounds of Sparring (both sessions with Instructor)
- Endurance: 30 - 40 minutes of strength -building using free weights and gym equipment.
- 200 Sit-ups and / or more Skipping
- 60 minute run over a 12km distance combined with 200m sprints uphill (aprx 7-10 sprints)
In Muay Thai most fights are decided EITHER in round 1 by KO (Elbow and Knee) or in the 5th round as a results of conditioning. Conditioning will win over technique in 95% of all cases. Our gym specializes in body condition and nutrition. It takes personal dedication by our trainers and management. This is what we offer that distinguishes us from the rest. You will leave our gym either in the best condition of your life or as winner (or both). The CHOICE IS YOURS!
Instructors:
Chun (Head Instructor) Chun is a highly decorated Thai professional fighter from the famous Lanna Muay Thai Gym in Chiang Mai and holds multiple Championship belts. Chun was the Northern Thai Champion in the 45 kg, 48kg and 50kg class for many years. Chun speaks fluent English and Chinese and will teach you the finer point of Muay Thai. His career of over 100 professional fights came to an end at the age of 23 due to a re-occurring injury. Thai fighters reach their peak at about 20 years of age, due to the enormous stress placed on the body both in the ring and during training. Chun holds a business degree and has started up gyms in China and Dubai. Prior to that he worked at the Lanna Muay Thai gym for over 12 years (yes, he DID start early). He is the Phuket Muay Thai Head instructor and Camp manager.
Boon Boon is also from the Lanna Muay Thai Camp in Chiang Mai and at 22 years is a veteran of many grueling fights at the Lumpini stadium. Boon is a fighter and trainer and will teach you defensive and offensive tactics, grappling and general ring survival tactics. Boon is a powerful kicker and will teach any level from beginner to expert fighter Boon was a former 3 time Northern Champion and had over 70 fights, many of them in stadiums such as Omnoi, Lumpini and Chiang Mai. Boon is still fighting and will be going for his 4th belt, hopefully the Southern Championship.
Pong "Bruce Lee" PONG has been around Muay Thai for many years despite his age of 19 years. He has had over 60 fights, is the younger brother of Chun our Head trainer and holds the WMC Intercontinental 55kg title won during a thriller bout during the Kings Cup Birthday at Sanam Luang in front over over 300,000 people. He has also fought the top Asian Champion during a WMC MAD show to a draw , with ease and has KO 'ed the Om Noi stadium Champion during fight in Ko Samui. He holds a BA in accounting.
Chopchai 130 Muay Thai fights, 67 WBC boxing fights, need we say more ! Loves teaching kids and is by far the best tactical and strategic trainer in Phuket .
Dam (The Dominator) 120 Fights, 65 kg and 68kg ex- Lumpini Champion perhaps one of the most technical trainers and fighters in Thailand and will work you hard, as much as you can handle. Dam is our "Muay Thai Gear tester" he once demolished a pair of new Thai pads (not a great brand) with one kick, therefore his nickname: Dam "One Kick"
Apen A nice guy, over 80 fights, a trainer and fighter from Chiang Mai, very patient and great with new students.
