Sitpohom opened in 2005 as the first professional gym in Nacharern. There is a big boxing ring and a couple of bags and weights as well as all the other equipment you need for training.
We can provide you with a nice but simple fan cooled private room within the gym. There are shared bathrooms and toilets both western and thai style. The gym is surrounded by a beautiful garden and located only 3 km away from Sirinthon Damm where we use to swim or just relax in the water after training.
Training
Chai is going to make a personal training plan for you depending on you level of experience and fitness and what you want to achieve while staying with us.
Morning training starts at 6 o'clock with a six to ten kilometer run and finishes at about eight. Afternoon training starts at five a clock with some footballplaying to warm up and goes till about eight. Most people consider the afternoon session beeing harder whilst many others say it is even more enjoyable than the morning training. Many locals watch the afternoon training. Gamblers, promoters and retired fighters come to watch or spar what makes it a great experience.
Location: Isaan
In many way the north-eastern region of Thailand which is called Isaan is the kingdom's heartland. Although the majority of Thailands population lives in this area only 2% of the country's annual international arrivals venture into Isaan. Partly due to the general nondevelopment the older Thai customs remain more intact here than elsewhere in the country.
Muay Thai is more popular than in any other region and most Lumpini and Rajadamnern champions have their origins in this region. Sometimes there are shows with more than 40 fights in a single night. Many Thai kids fight to help their families and dream of beeing a champion some day. If you tell any Thai man that you came here to train Muay Thai he is very likely going to tell you stories about his fighting career since there are few who never even tried the sport.
